Information for Recruiters interested in the Sun Microsystems
Alumni Association (SMAA)
Recruiting Sun Alumni through SMAA
SMAA provides a rich pool of highly qualified talent. Members
have experience in hardware and software engineering, finance,
marketing, human resources, and other functions. We've
established relationships with a number of corporate and independent
recruiters who have posted job openings to SMAA. They've
shared feedback remarking how impressed they have been with
the quality of applicants who have responded.
We have established a process by which recruiters may post
job openings to SMAA.
Eligible members of this group are Sun alumni, corporate
recruiters, and independent recruiters. You must join
this group before you can post jobs to this group of
more than 600 former-Sun employees. SMAA constitutes a rich
pool of talent, with great experience in all functional areas,
such as engineering, marketing, finance, HR, and others.
Once approved, recruiters are asked to abide by these guidelines. Because
we don’t permit attachments to email, send an email
as follows:
- In
the subject line: “job”, title, company, city,
state
- In the body, job description, requirements, contact information.
- Send the email to the address you were
given in (1) above.
In addition to the Terms of Use with
which SMAA members must comply, recruiters must
ensure that the positions they post
actually exist. In addition, recruiters should
honor applicable laws, including providing equal opportunity
without regard to race, creed, color, religion, age, or gender. If
it is found that a recruiter does not comply with
these guidelines, he/she may lose the ability
to post openings to the Sun Alumni group.
Terms of Use
Recruiters are encouraged to post listings to the Sun Alumni,
provided that they provide full disclosure as to who they are
and the recruiting company that they represent, and where we
can verify this information. This includes their corporate
website, addresses and telephone number where we can verify
their association with that company.
Members of the Sun Microsystems Alumni Association are serious
about finding employment, and we require that the positions
you post actually exist, and that you respond to each SMAA
member who replies to your posting. You must abide by the letter
of the law, providing equal opportunity without regard to race,
creed, color, religion, age, or gender.
A recruiter who does not abide by these Terms of Use may lose
his/her ability to post openings to the Sun Alumni group.
